Konkuk University held the opening ceremony of the Global Plant Stress Research Center (GPSRC) at the Ugok International Conference Hall of Konkuk University on the 23rd and hosted an international academic symposium from the 23rd to the 24th. The Global Plant Stress Research Center is selected as the Global Leading Research Center (SRC) supported by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Research Foundation, and will receive a total of 11.2 billion KRW over the next seven years, including 10.5 billion KRW in government contributions and 700 million KRW in response funds from Konkuk University.

A research team led by Yoon Dae-jin, a professor of medical biotechnology at Konkuk University, will participate in the Global Plant Stress Research Center to solve environmental and food problems, which are directly related to mankind’s survival, facing the biggest challenge of climate change in the 21st century.
